5 Resources That are Underutilized by ACCA Students and Affiliates

Being registered with ACCA does not only give you quality professional accountancy education but also offers some exclusive value adding resources that, in my opinion are not widely known by all students and if known are not being utilized up to their full potential.
  • ACCA CAREERS:A platform for providing job updates mostly from ACCA Approved employers. The portal not only provides job updates on a daily basis but also provides career advice, interview tips from fellow members who have been in the industry for a good deal of time. How it Works:
You just have to make a profile on ACCACareers and you will receive job notifications which match your profile and you just have to press the apply button and that’s it.As the jobs are being posted by ACCA itself the jobs are genuine and hiring is done on merit basis.
  • Technical articles:Although technical articles are primarily meant to be for people who are giving their exams another great use is many updates from IASB, economic scenario, case studies, briefings etc are communicated through technical articles. Reading the newest technical articles will keep you updated regarding the latest developments in Accountancy and finance.
  • Student Accountant:The Student Accountant is official newsletter by ACCA and focuses on the highlights of the month plus a lot of information is being communicated by members, Approved Learning Partners, approved employers and ACCA’s own progress as well. The variety of topics offered by Student Accountant is extremely diverse but yet highly relevant.
  • ACCA Potential Magazine:Although the magazine focuses on the needs of potential ACCA students who wish to join the professional body I found much of the information available can be of great use to existing students and affiliates too. From career pathways to industries that suite your needs it has all that you need to calm your ambitious yet confused soul.
  • ACCA Helpline:Yes I know Its not made for this purpose but I personally believe that If we are going to succeed it is going to take feedback and communication. I have met many students who are confused even scared but don’t dare to ask the people in charge regarding the matter.. Why? That’s beyond me!
  • From my personal experience constructive criticism is taken with open arms by ACCA regional offices and will yield great results but we’ll have to sow the seed first.
